More incredible acts added to Midlands Music Festival 07 with Aimee Mann and
Mundy just confirmed 2nd April 2007 Midlands Music
Festival was launched only last week yet the line-up is already getting bigger
and better with Aimee Mann and Mundy the latest additions to an already stellar
line-up. Midlands Music Festival, the surprise success of last year, makes a triumphant
return this summer 28th and 29th July 2007, at the brand new location of Belvedere
House, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. After making a name for herself as the
wild-haired lead singer of the '80s new-wave band 'Til Tuesday, Aimee Mann spent
years carving out an iconoclastic career in pop music's margins. Subsequent albums
include critically lauded The Forgotten Arm and Lost in Space. Her performance
at this years Midland Music Festival is highly anticipated and promises not to
disappoint. Midlands Music Festival will be practically a home coming gig
for Birr man, Mundy. Over the last decade, Mundy has been a constant live presence
throughout Ireland and Europe, Mundy has cemented his reputation as a consummate
live performer and entertainer. Topping the bill over two days and nights
will be legendary artist Christy Moore, Kris Kristofferson, Glen Campbell, Steve
Earle and Paul Brady. In addition Richard Thompson, Ricky Skaggs. The Waterboys,
Gillian Welch, Allison Moorer, Prison Love, Leonard Cohen presents 'Anjani', The
Hillbilly All Stars, Hot House Flowers, Bray Vista, The Be Good Tanyas, Tom Russell,
Blind Boys of Alabama and many many more join the ever expanding Midlands line
up. Promoters have also added a third stage this year which represents all that
is best in World Music. Not only is the new location of Belvedere House
a perfect setting with 160 acres of magnificent estate and lakeshore walks, it
has instant accessibility to numerous hotels and B&Bs on its doorstep, for
those who prefer a bed to camping ! Considered one of the best contemporary
music festivals last summer, Midlands was the first of its kind in Europe with
a stellar line up of some of the worlds music greats and entertainment for all
the family .This years festival promises to be even better with an even more diverse
mix of music, keeping the country element for which its famous, but also extending
the musical reach, and an extra designed area for kids. And of course Under 12s
