Jackson Browne gets set for Midlands Music Festival

Apr 18th 2006

The legendary Jackson Browne adds a West-coast flavour to this summer’s amazing Midlands Music Festival in Ballinlough Castle, Athboy Co. Meath in July.

The Californian singer songwriter’s collection spans more than three decades of folk, country and rock in songs such as “Doctor My Eyes”, “The Pretender” “Running On Empty” and “Take It Easy”, the song Jackson co-wrote with Glenn Frey and which became the Eagles breakthrough hit in the early 70s. Jackson will be joined by multi-instrumentalist, David Lindley.

Jackson joins other country giants Emmylou Harris, Kenny Rogers, Glenn Campbell, Don McLean and Nanci Griffith for this summer’s two-day country love-in, which is being staged in Ballinlough castle on Friday and Saturday, July 28th & 29th.

Also joining Jackson will be Van Morrison, Guy Clarke, Darden Smith, Loudain Wainwright III and Irish troubadours Bray Vista who have just released their new album “Sing My Darling”.

Spread over one main stage and two smaller indoor tented stages and located by the beautiful old castle, the venue will play host to an intimate crowd of 15,000 with a barbecue each day down the castle lake.

Tickets are priced at €65 for the Friday, 28th July and €70 for Saturday, 29th July. There is also a two-day ticket priced at €120. Phone and Internet booking are subject to a service charge.
