Guitarist/singer
Alan Sparhawk and percussionist/singer Mimi Parker formed Low in 1993 with bassist
John Nichols, partly as an experiment in playing quiet, minimalistic music. Zak
Sally, a friend of Alan and Mimi's, became the band's bass player in 1994. Zak
remained in Low until the end of 2005, at which time Matt Livingston began playing
bass in the band.
