José González
Swedish singer song-writer José González has carved
out a unique, intimate style that is his own. The critically adored album
Veneer raced up the charts nearly two years after its initial release in
2003.
Relying on his masterfully eloquent classical guitar and voice, that marries
mature assuredness with poignant delicacy. His achingly emotional melodies
and thought provoking lyrics are all sung in perfect, crystalline English
and subtle exotic shades of Brazilian Tropicana. His songs are timeless,
yet there's a clean freshness to Jose's music that makes repeated listening
an endless rejuvenating delight.
After untrammelled Scandinavian success in 2004, Jose signed to London
based Indie label Peacefrog. Releasing his UK debut EP ‘Crosses’ in
February 2005, Press and Radio were hooked.
Covers such as Kylie Minogue's 'Hand on Your Heart' and The Knife's 'Heartbeats'
which featured on a high profile Sony Bravia TV campaign saw the song shoot
into the UK charts in January 2006.
